Historical books are one of the sections of the Christian Biblical canon, which contains books chronologically describing the history of ancient Israel from the conquest Canaan before the return from captivity under Ezra and Nehemiah. The section is presented in the most ancient uncial manuscripts The Septuagint, as well as some early Christian authors.
Composition
In the early church, the historical books section also included The Pentateuch, beginning the story from the creation of the world, described in The Book of Genesis. In modern isagogics, this section traditionally includes the following books of the Old Testament:
